Featured as the cover story of Country Style magazine April 2026 edition, this is a local home we were proud to furnish with our custom window furnishings, linen curtains, Roman blinds, and upholstery.
A brief initial discovery chat with the homeowner in May 2025 allowed us to understand how the home should look, and also how it needed to feel and function for a growing family. That first conversation is never just about listening – it’s about hearing a vision and reading between the lines. From there, our behind-the-scenes experience and hard work shapes how we bring that to life.
This project is a wonderful example of what happens when you engage the right team from the beginning, early in your renovation or new build. Not just for ideas or pricing, but to properly interpret your lifestyle and renovation dreams, to carry them through to a complete, considered result.
Historic 1850s Homestead Extension
Working with a new extension to a historic 1850s homestead, the goal was to create continuity. The new spaces needed to honour the character of the original home while feeling soft and elevated, and still practical for everyday family life.
With soaring ceiling heights and structural elements to consider, being involved at the right time allowed us to guide key decisions around the window furnishings. Coming in early (often earlier than you assume) ensures the final handover not only suits the vision, but also works within the scale and structure of the home.

Linen Window Furnishings & Fabric Selection Process
Stonewashed European linen selected by us set the tone for the soft furnishings. Soft, relaxed and timeless, its natural texture and movement brought ease into each room while delivering the level of refinement needed to sit comfortably alongside antique brass hardware and traditional mid-19th-century details.
Across the home, many rolls of linen were carefully bought in to give the right weight, drape, and finish in every space. We love working with linen!
This was carried through with new custom Roman Blinds with antiqued fittings, along with loose lined linen curtains finished on statement rods with full rings and decorative finials. The relaxed nature of the curtains was an intentional choice, allowing the home to feel lived in rather than overly formal. Each element was considered as part of the whole, so the window furnishings feel settled and completely at home.
For the upholstery and cushion covers, we guided the selections with a considered shortlist of stripes, drawing from the character of the existing home and the client’s inspiration. With our strong relationships across a wide range of fabric houses, we were able to present a refined range of suitable options – across different colourways and basecloths – each complementary to the home. All fabric options were thoughtfully sourced in-house, with purpose, to make sure the final decision would feel personal and right for the family.
The Result
The result is a home that feels calm, genuinely lived-in and loved. It’s a place to retreat, designed for connection, where family life can unfold with ease. The furnishings layer softness and intention, and have been designed and delivered to stand the test of time.
Soft furnishing projects like this don’t come together by chance and nice Pinterest boards. They are the result of engaging and trusting an experienced team to carry the complete process, from early listening and detailed planning through to skilled manufacturing and precise installation.
When every detail is carried through with care, experience and intent, the outcome is both right and beautiful.
Our effort is your effortless outcome, and the results speak for themselves.
